This website was created in collaboration with subject-matter experts (the professor of the course as well as the distance learning specialist at the IU School of Education). The original wireframe was sketched out with pen, paper, and colored pencils, and the guidelines used were set forth by the client (the professor). The learner-analysis revealed that most online students in the distance program work independently, and would need exemplars of other portfolios, as well as timelines with due dates to act as check points in the process.

Learner-centered design |
There were a number of expected outcomes, or learner objectives, set forth by the client (the course instructor) that needed to be met.

Usability testing with this prototype was very quick, and only happened in the early design phase with different paper prototypes. In the end, the new website was a vast improvement over the previous one. One thing the end product was lacking was current and more examples of professional portfolios for the sudents to study and learn from. Finding and adding more of these would be the next step in a reiteration of this site.
